A Whole Mess of Things

I know I haven't posted in a while, and that's partly because I've been busy and partly because I couldn't decide what to post on. So I guess I'll do a little bit of everything lately.

The only way I know how to tackle many things is by listing them.

Joe visited and we painted my blender green, because the original "Harvest Yellow?" was hideous and made me angry. Messed with my feng shui.

It's been so long I don't remember what else I've done. I probably went to school and worked out.

But hey, for those who haven't seen - this is my teeny tiny kitchen!

But then I went to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. It was cold. I saw a lot of people (in reality not that many) that I hadn't seen in a while - Amanda my BFF, my lovely and ridiculous cousins RayCharles and ShangriLa (I don't know why I wrote that, I've never called them those names in my life), my Grandma L who possesses sisu in great amounts, my Grandpa L who always dresses like a genteel man, my Grandpa B who also dresses like a genteel man, my Grandma B whose new hairstyle looks smashing, my precious and smelly dogs, oh and my family. Because it's been since the FOURTH OF JULY since I last saw them all at the same time. Seriously? Yeah.

(Things about this picture need explaining, but I'll do it another post because I have more pictures from this weekend.)

But they're cool and smart and funny, and we lazed by the fire, ate a lot of food and saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 again.

Then I went back to school and it suddenly decided to be winter. Complete with flurries and cold.

My indie publishing class put on an event for UofL's literary magazine the White Squirrel. I designed the program and acted as a judge for the open mic. After the open mic people who had been published in the White Squirrel got up and read a couple poems. Afterward there was a reception and snacks. It was enjoyable.

My finals are irritating and I am stressing about them.

I am having massage therapy done on my jaw. The first session was helpful, I know this because it didn't hurt to yawn as much. Actually, it hardly hurt at all! But, with finals I can feel the muscles around my jaw constricting once again. I have 3 more sessions. I am looking forward to them.

Then I went to my first basketball game in the new stadium. Holy wa! It's like a huge mall! All shiny and clean with criss-crossing escalators. And it's huge! UofL beat Florida International by a lot. And because I bought season tickets I have wicked awesome seats!

So, that's all I think.

  1. My God, the mixer looks fabulous in green - a definite improvement over the awful yellow it used to be. What kind of paint did you use?

  2. I just used 2 coats of a model spray paint and a clear coat.

Also, I decided that since it looks brand new it needs a name. I named him Finn, because it's a little bit hipster and way cool. And Finn.
